Nuclear Neighbors BETA How to Survive the Days
Food, showers, cryo, and the day 1 / 5 / 10 / 50 / 100 badge ladder in the public BETA.
Surviving Nuclear Neighbors BETA is a day count, not a single boss bar. Building Adventure’s Roblox bunker game asks you to scavenge a ruined neighborhood, live underground, and outlast random encounters while the calendar ticks. This guide is the strategy layer on top of Getting Started: how to play days 1, 5, 10, 50, and 100, when to shower, how to think about food, and when the cryo pod is a tool instead of a toy.
The experience is a public BETA on 20-player servers. Expect bugs. Do not treat a failed day as a personal skill issue until you have ruled out a patch, a jammed prompt, or a neighbor who emptied the stash while you were in cryo.
The day ladder
Normal mode badges are the spine:
- First day jitters — survive day 1
- Home sick — survive day 5
- Getting cozy — survive day 10
- True survivor — survive day 50
- Help me — survive day 100
HARD mode adds Skin and Bones (10 days) and Pure Radiation (50 days). DEADLY mode adds THE END IS NEAR (5 days) and One Above All (50 days). One Above All still has zero awards, which is the loudest difficulty warning in the badge list. Track all of them on the badge checklist instead of memorizing unofficial spreadsheets.
Days 1 and 5
Day 1 is a short leash: close houses, visible stash, no curiosity hunts. Day 5 is where most players fall off. Home sick’s award count is a fraction of First day jitters because the loot loop gets interrupted by Encounters and by people who stop showering, stop eating, or walk the wasteland like it is a park.
Between day 1 and day 5, keep the same circuit. Expand one house farther only after the stash looks boringly full. If police rats, the toilet creature, or Hatman hit, reset to home and continue the day; do not start a side quest. Rank those threats later on the encounter tier list.
Days 10 and Time thief
Getting cozy at day 10 is the first badge that feels like a lifestyle. You should know where food comes from, which bunker stations you actually use, and which events you will not poke. Time thief is the speed variant: reach day 10 in under five minutes. The cryo pod is a named pause machine, not a published skip-length table, so a Time thief attempt is a dedicated dare, not a parkour route through unnamed streets. Do not mix it with the fridge. Exact upgrade costs and skip lengths are still being mapped in this BETA — do not trust a rumor that names a number we have not seen on a badge.
If you are not hunting Time thief, play day 10 like a stable camp. Eat, shower, stash, and refuse to multiply Skeleto. GET AWAY wants five days without multiplying him; mixing that challenge into a messy day-10 push is how cozy runs die.
Days 50 and 100
True survivor (50) and Help me (100) are endurance. Food discipline matters more than heroics. A 50-day bunker that still has a visible can pile and a working shower habit will beat a 50-day bunker that spent every night chasing cryptids. Help me is rare because the BETA is young and because random events keep stacking. Plan 100 as a boring routine: loot, stash, hygiene, cryo when you need a safe skip, then check the BETA changelog after patches so a fridge change does not wipe week two.
Do not pivot into ending hunting at day 40 unless the stash can survive a failure. Endings are their own risk budget.
Food, hygiene, and cryo
Food. Scavenge houses, use the mysterious fridge when you accept the risk, and never leave cans in the yard. Midnight Snack wants five beans in a row from that fridge; Rotten beans wants you to slay a mutated beans can. Both are encounter-adjacent, not grocery lists. Eat enough to keep the run alive. Starving for a screenshot is not a strategy.
Hygiene. The shower exists. Stinky is the anti-habit badge: survive 20 days without showering. If you want Stinky, commit and track it. If you want 50 and 100, shower when the game lets you. A public BETA can still change how smell interacts with encounters, so treat “never shower except for Stinky” as a badge route, not as default advice.
Cryo. Cryo Chad is max upgrade on the cryo pod. Use cryo when a night is too hot, when you need a controlled skip, or when you are pushing Time thief. Do not max the pod on day 2 at the cost of food. Upgrade it as the camp stabilizes. We will not invent a resource table the developer has not published.
The neighborhood map reminds you that all of this happens between houses, bunker rooms, and wasteland — not on a custom street grid.
HARD and DEADLY
Queue HARD after Normal day 10 feels automatic. Skin and Bones is a 10-day HARD check; Pure Radiation is 50. Queue DEADLY only if you want THE END IS NEAR at 5 days or you are trying to be the first wave on One Above All. The map does not change names. The same toilet, rats, Hatman, and Skeleto still exist; they simply have less patience for sloppy loot trips.
Play HARD/DEADLY on a 20-player server with people who will not multiply Skeleto for a joke. Read Controls so a prompt does not eat a second you do not have. Check codes only if you like staring at an empty list — there are still no confirmed promo codes, and a difficulty run is not the time to rummage menus for gifts that do not exist.
Survive by shrinking the game. Fewer houses, more stash, showers on purpose, cryo on purpose, encounters treated as threats instead of content to binge. That is how days become badges instead of wipe screens.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Nuclear Neighbors BETA players.
What are the main survival badges?
First day jitters (1), Home sick (5), Getting cozy (10), True survivor (50), and Help me (100). HARD and DEADLY add their own day badges on the badge checklist.
Should I shower every run?
Yes, unless you are hunting Stinky (20 days without showering). Default advice is to use the shower; the exception is a tracked badge route.
When should I use the cryo pod?
When you need a controlled skip or a safer night. Do not mix cryo into a Time thief attempt unless you already know how the clock ticks. Maxing the pod awards Cryo Chad. Upgrade costs are still being mapped.
How do encounters affect long runs?
They are the main wipe source after food. Read Encounters and keep Skeleto from multiplying if you care about GET AWAY or a clean 50.
When do I try HARD or DEADLY?
After Normal day 10 feels stable. DEADLY’s 50-day badge, One Above All, still has zero awards. Rank threats on the tier list first.
Does food come from codes?
No. No official codes are confirmed. Loot houses, use the fridge at your own risk, and ignore empty redeem menus on the codes hub.
